Dirt and horsepower — what’s not to love? Scouts and Venturers can now learn how to safely drive an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) at Camp Babcock-Hovey starting. Participants must be age 14 or older to drive an ATV, and the program requires participants to wear helmets, goggles, gloves, long pants, long-sleeve shirts and over-the-ankle boots.

The ATV RiderCourse program consists of 4 1/2 hours of hands on training on the riding range.  Skills practice will include, sharp turns, weaving in between cones, performing emergency stops and turns, learning machine maintenance, and review safety regulations. After receiving their safety certificate, they go on a trail ride exploring the camp.
