Babcock Hovey Facilities
Short Term Week-End Camping
During the months of September through May, short-term weekend camping is available to units at Camp Babcock-Hovey. The term period begins Friday evenings and runs until Sundays at noon.
To make a reservation, check availability with the Camping Administrative Assistant at: phone 585-241-8545 or email camping@senecawaterways. When the reservation is set, you would be sent a Camp Use Agreement in the mail. You will be responsible for adding the second leader information, signing and dating it. Keep the pink copy for the Unit records and return the rest of the agreement with full payment within four weeks of the date the reservation was set.
Cancellations need to be phoned into the Camp Ranger, 607-869-3841, and to the Servicenter 585 241-8545, 2 weeks prior to your confirmed camp date reservation in order to receive a full refund.
New at Camp Babcock-Hovey
The Scout Memorial Lodge is available to rent. This year-round facility holds 10 campers, contains a propane kitchen stove, is heated and water is available year-round. When renting the Memorial Lodge, you may park at Penn Yan Lodge, a.k.a. the Camp Business Office.
Rustic camping not for your unit?
There is a facility to rent with all the comforts of home at Babcock-Hovey. The Seneca Lake-Eagle Conference Center.
Out Of Council Units
All campers at Babcock-Hovey must have Health & Accident Insurance. Most council’s carry this coverage for their members. Your council can provide a certificate of insurance that you should bring with you to camp, along with your Tour Permit.
Campmaster Corps
The Campmaster Corps is a group of selected registered Scouters who volunteer to serve weekends at Camp. Often times, they present programs of expertise to groups camping at Babcock-Hovey.
